It’s not too late for marketing, business and personal goals!

Welcome to March!  It’s still not too late to set your 2018 business and personal goals. The first two months may have gotten away  from you but there are still 10 months to go. If you are looking to change, improve yourself or expand your business then take a few minutes to set some goals for 2018.

Goal Setting

Where to start? There is always the S.M.A.R.T acronym for goal setting which stands for specific, measurable, achievable, results and time. You want to make sure that your goal is specific not just I’m going to make this a great year. It is important that a goal is measurable so that you have tangible evidence that you are making progress or know when you have acheived your goal. This is followed by achievable, of course the goal should be a bit of a stretch but not:  I’m going to walk on the moon by July 4th, 2018. Next up is results, it is important that goals measure outcomes and not activities. Lastly, is a time schedule, it is vital to have a time measure as it helps create that sense of urgency and provides motivation to complete your goals on this timeline.  After your goals are set, make sure that you put them up some where that you will be reminded of them on a daily basis. This constant reinforcement is one step to make these goals a reality.

While these are just some basics for goal setting, I hope that you find them helpful. If you haven’t done so already, take a few minutes to write out some goals for 2018 and see where that takes you on a personal and business level!
